Sectional tanks at a glance

Construction GRP panels assembled on site.
Best suited to Restricted delivery routes and project-specific layouts.
Range IFB, EFB, IF and TIF; compare the access and base below.
Support Agreed base detail and structural check for the full filled load.
Options Divisions, insulation, inlet chambers, connections and monitoring.

Choose the construction

Match the base and fixing access to the room. A flange is the panel edge where the joint is bolted.

IFB tank cutaway showing the internally flanged base highlighted in red

IFB

Internally Flanged Base

Internal base fixings with external wall fixings. Suitable for a flat, level support where side access is available.

Allow for: Side working space, safe top access and emptying the tank for internal base-fixing work.

EFB tank cutaway showing profiled base panels and the sump detail

EFB

Externally Flanged Base

External wall and base fixings on raised supports. Profiled base panels help water drain towards the agreed drain or sump.

Allow for: Working space at the sides and underneath, plus the cost and height of the supports.

IF tank panel joints and internal base flanges highlighted in red

IF

Internally Flanged

Internal wall joints with separate corner angles. Choose an internal or external base.

Allow for: Corner access and the chosen base detail. Stainless steel fixings usually place the supply cost closer to TIF than standard IFB or EFB.

TIF tank cutaway showing internal wall and base joints highlighted in red

TIF

Totally Internally Flanged

Internal wall and base fixings help make use of restricted plant rooms and suitable near-wall layouts.

Allow for: Safe access above the tank and at every serviceable fitting.

A conventional all-round external flange-maintenance corridor is not needed.

Specify the usable litres

Give the required litres and capacity basis. The system designer confirms the top and lower usable water levels.

Check capacity and dimensions

Actual capacity includes bottom unusable water. Actual usable capacity excludes it. Construction changes internal dimensions; TIF clear-access dimensions alone do not describe the full water volume.

ASSEMBLED ON SITE

Individual panels.
A tank built around the project.

Sectional construction allows the panels to be brought into the building and assembled in position. The photograph shows an installation in progress.

Discuss the delivery route, assembly space, supporting base and final service access with the Decca team.

Options that shape the finished tank.

A watertight division creates separate compartments. State the required litres and capacity basis for each. Agree separate connections, isolation, drainage and access.

Keeping the system in use during cleaning depends on the capacity and pipework available, as well as the division.

Send a dimensioned room plan to discuss L-shaped or other selected non-standard layouts. Show columns, beams, services, fitting positions and the panel delivery route.

The layout must allow the tank to be assembled, operated and maintained.

Tell us the water duty, indoor or outdoor location, insulation requirements, connections and level-monitoring equipment.

A raised inlet chamber houses the inlet valve above the main cover and may allow a higher top water level. Include its height and valve-access needs in the layout.

From selection to installation

Decca helps you compare constructions, reviews the tank layout and connection drawing, and manufactures the agreed GRP tank. We can include on-site assembly and installation, with testing, cleaning, disinfection and handover defined in the quotation.

  • Decca confirms the proposed tank, dimensions, fittings and delivery/installation scope.
  • Your structural designer confirms support and the full filled load.
  • Agree testing, cleaning, disinfection and handover requirements.

Request approval evidence for the selected product and duty. Decca does not hold LPCB LPS 1276 certification.
