01 / Planning priority
Confirm material compatibility
Provide safety data and concentration information for additives or cleaning agents. Do not assume a standard cold water tank is suitable for every process liquid or hot-water duty.
INDUSTRY / PROJECT-SPECIFIC DUTY
Decca helps select GRP storage for process and utility water, subject to review of the fluid, temperature and duty.
Selection help · Drawing review · Agreed installation support

Clean process water, utility water and treated supplies can have different material and operating requirements. Give Decca the fluid specification and system duty so suitability can be reviewed for the proposed product.
| Stored fluid | Water source, composition and any additives. |
|---|---|
| Conditions | Normal and maximum temperature, concentration and cleaning exposure. |
| Flow profile | Batch draw-off, continuous demand and refill rate. |
| Controls | Level signals, process interlocks and pump interfaces. |
| Service environment | Internal/external location, access and contamination risks. |
01 / Planning priority
Provide safety data and concentration information for additives or cleaning agents. Do not assume a standard cold water tank is suitable for every process liquid or hot-water duty.
02 / Planning priority
Identify batch volumes, peak draw-off, standby periods and the refill arrangement. Include any minimum level required by the process or pumps.
03 / Planning priority
Coordinate supports, nozzles, pipe loads, level devices and drainage. Identify who designs, supplies and commissions connected plant.
Give the required usable volume for the actual cycle. The volume between the operating levels matters more than the nominal tank label. The calculator can record selected dimensions and fittings, but it does not confirm fluid compatibility, pressure-vessel suitability, process performance or system controls.
WORKED-THROUGH PLANNING QUESTION
Provide the batch volume, timing and refill data together. Ask the system designer to confirm the operating reserve and pump limits. Decca can then review a tank configuration against the same defined duty. Illustrative planning scenario.
Select a construction only after the material and operating-condition review.
A complete moulded body where the full delivery route works.
Separate body sections, with room to assemble and seal the joint.
Panels assembled in position; compare the base and fixing access.
TIF body height is limited to 3 m; other tank bodies to 4 m. Chambers, supports and maintenance headroom are additional. Final dimensions and access are agreed with Decca.
Decca helps select the tank and reviews the fluid information, operating conditions, connections and maintenance access with your team. We manufacture and supply the agreed tank and can quote for installation. Any testing, cleaning, disinfection and handover in our scope is agreed before work starts.
Share the information you already have. Mark unknown items for review rather than guessing them.
Suitability requires a specific material and temperature review. Standard cold water storage construction must not be assumed suitable for chemical storage or elevated temperatures.
The cold water storage tanks discussed here are atmospheric storage. Any pressurised duty requires a separately specified solution.
It calculates volumes from the selected assumptions. The process designer defines the required reserve, operating levels and controls.
Use the current project specification and confirm the applicable document editions with the responsible designer. These links provide background guidance; they are not product-approval certificates.
Application planning guidance. Product suitability, approval evidence and the final Decca drawing must be confirmed for the order. Water demand and complete system design remain with the responsible designer.
